Softball Recap: Mary Star of the Sea Takes a Loss

Mary Star of the Sea was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 10-5 to the Ramona Convent Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 last Thursday.

Ruby Rico made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Larrin Burruss was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Mary Star of the Sea's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Ramona Convent, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-5.

Coincidentally, Mary Star of the Sea and Ramona Convent will both be playing Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Cardinals at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Stars will head out to face them at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
