Recap: Dayspring Academy Shires vs. Agathos Classical Warriors
After flying high against the Hendersonville Christian Academy Crusaders on Monday, the Dayspring Academy Shires came back down to earth. Dayspring Academy fell 71-58 to Agathos Classical on Tuesday. Dayspring Academy has struggled against Agathos Classical recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Dayspring Academy had strong showings from John-Michael Martin, who shot 7-for-8 from long range and dropped a triple-double on 25 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists, and Jordan Jackson, who scored 22 points along with four steals. Martin is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season.
Dayspring Academy bumped their record down to 6-14 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Agathos Classical, the win (which was their fifth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dayspring Academy will take on Madison Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Agathos Classical, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Lancaster Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th.
