Softball Recap: Mabank Takes a Loss

Mabank's last matchup with Lindale could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Mabank Panthers came up short against the Lindale Eagles, falling 25-1. The Panthers lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in March of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 7-5 score last time.

Mabank saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Callie Davis, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Davis also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Mabank has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. Lindale pushed their record up to 12-5-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Mabank will face off against Athens at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mabank has given up an average of 11.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Lindale, they will challenge Van at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lindale's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
