            The St. Paul Swordsmen will take on the Valencia Tigers at 3:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. The timing is sure in St. Paul's favor as the  team sits on 17 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Valencia has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
St. Paul's pitching crew heads into the  match  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Thursday. They blew past Garfield 6-0.
  Robert Encinas Jr was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4. What's more,  he posted three  hits, the most he's  had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Richie Avina, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Valencia fought the good fight in their extra-innings  contest against Century  on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost  3-2 to the Centurions, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
 Valencia now  has a losing record of 1-2. As for St. Paul, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
 St. Paul took their  win against Valencia  when the teams last played  back in March of 2024 by a conclusive  10-4. Will St. Paul repeat their success,  or does  Valencia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
