Preview: American Heritage Patriots vs. Mackay Miners
The American Heritage Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Mackay Miners at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Last Thursday, American Heritage was beaten by Challis 50-20. That's two games in a row now that American Heritage has lost by exactly 30 points.
Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, a fact Mackay proved on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Leadore and snuck past 42-40.
Mackay relied on the efforts of Ruger Nicholls, who scored 12 points along with 8 assists and 6 rebounds, and Kaizer Summers, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Summers has scored at least 25% of Mackay's points. Teyler Rogers was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
This is the second loss in a row for American Heritage and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Mackay, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
