Basketball Recap: Juliet Loffredo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sleepy Hollow over Peekskill

Sleepy Hollow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 28-26 heartbreaker at the hands of the Peekskill Red Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 32-22 back in December of 2024.

Sleepy Hollow lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Juliet Loffredo, who posted eight points. Those eight points gave her a new career-high.

Peekskill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jealina Searight out in front who put up ten points and three steals. Searight is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 64% in the last three games she's played. Riley Jenkins was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Sleepy Hollow's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Peekskill, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season.

Sleepy Hollow didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 37-35 defeat against Port Chester on the 3rd. As for Peekskill, they have also already played their next contest, a 63-19 loss against Hendrick Hudson on the 5th.
