It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Oak Park-River Forest ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Downers Grove North Trojans. The win was familiar territory for the Huskies, who have now won nine contests in a row.

Oak Park-River Forest pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Downers Grove North, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Trojans beat Oak Park-River Forest by a score of 7-6 on Thursday.
