Baseball Recap: Gibson County Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Gibson County's offense. They fell just short of the Milan Bulldogs by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. It was the first time this season that the Pioneers let down their fans at home.

Noah Dabbs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up ten Ks. Gibson County is 4-1 when Dabbs allows one or fewer earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Gibson County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Pierce, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Gibson County is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6. As for Milan, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.

Coming up, Gibson County will head out to take on Westview at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Milan, they will welcome Huntingdon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
