Basketball Recap: Justasia Pointer Key Part of a Team Effort in Tigers Win

Talladega was handed a 35-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sylacauga Aggies, sneaking past 35-33. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-54 back in December of 2024.

Talladega's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justasia Pointer, who posted five points in addition to six boards and five steals. Zae Cunningham was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Talladega is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season. As for Sylacauga, they dropped their record down to 5-15 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Talladega will host Winterboro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sylacauga has already played their next game (against Childersburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
