Baseball Game Preview: Dayton Bulldogs vs. Garfield-Palouse Vikings

The Dayton Bulldogs will take on the Garfield-Palouse Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Dayton's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Garfield-Palouse posted their closest victory since April 12th on Tuesday. They skirted past Tekoa-Rosalia 11-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Cooper Parzuchowski was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Preston Olson, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Dayton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Garfield-Palouse, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-6-1.
