Volleyball Recap: Brookwood's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After a string of five wins, Brookwood's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Brookwood's offense was headlined by Juliana Alston-Ellis and Peyton Jenkins, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Alyssa Feder and her 11 assists.

Greater Atlanta Christian was led to victory by Angel Salcedo and Valentina Cifuentes. Salcedo had 13 digs and six assists, while Cifuentes had three digs and two aces. Those 13 digs gave Salcedo a new career-high.

Brookwood's defeat dropped their record down to 23-10. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Brookwood has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Archer on the 20th. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Norcross on the 20th.
