Football Game Preview: Fairfield Eagles vs. Westwood Panthers

Two dominant signal callers in Kohl Collins and Kavian Bryant are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Fairfield Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Westwood Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairfield knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Westwood likes a good challenge.

Fairfield is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Diboll: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Eagles blew the Lumberjacks out of the water with a 51-7 final score. Fans of the Eagles have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Meanwhile, Westwood suffered their biggest loss since November 22, 2024 on Friday. They lost 42-20 to Teague. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Panthers' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Fairfield pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 51.0 points this season. As for Westwood, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Fairfield might still be hurting after the 62-39 loss they got from Westwood when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
