Baseball Game Preview: Sunbright Tigers vs. Wartburg Central Bulldogs

Sunbright is 1-9 against Wartburg Central since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Sunbright is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game dating back to last season last Friday. They came up short against Scott, falling 11-3.

Brett Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Wartburg Central's offense. They lost 12-0 to Gatlinburg-Pittman on Thursday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wartburg Central's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Sunbright, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Sunbright might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from Wartburg Central in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
