Basketball Recap: Peachtree Academy Panthers vs. Academe of the Oaks Firebirds
The Peachtree Academy Panthers won the last time they faced the Academe of the Oaks Firebirds, and things went their way on Thursday too. Peachtree Academy claimed a resounding 74-21 victory over the Firebirds at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Peachtree Academy has managed all season.
Peachtree Academy had a senior duo take command as Nate Occilien-Similien scored 16 points along with five steals and Noah Rodriguez dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Occilien-Similien has scored all season. Julian Baluta was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Peachtree Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Academe of the Oaks, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Peachtree Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Academe of the Oaks will head out on the road to square off against the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence Classical Christian has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 4.
