Softball Game Preview: Morgantown Mohigans vs. Tunkhannock Tigers

The Morgantown Mohigans will face off against the Tunkhannock Tigers at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Morgantown's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Springfield by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Mohigans this season.

LIZ ALSOP was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. ANNE ROBINSON was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Morgantown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Springfield only posted an OBP of .105.

Meanwhile, Tunkhannock narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Chardon 6-5.

The team relied heavily on Addisyn Waterman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Erin Van Ness, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Tunkhannock's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Morgantown, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
