Baseball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for St. Patrick

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Patrick). They blew past the Picayune Maroon Tide 22-10 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Fighting Irish sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

St. Patrick got a massive performance out of Jacob Alexander, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance gave Alexander a new career-high in RBI. Chaz Byers also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

St. Patrick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

St. Patrick pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Picayune, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

St. Patrick will have a chance to go back-to-back against Picayune: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
