Recap: Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers vs. Travelers Rest Devildogs

The Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers were the 57-50 winner over the Travelers Rest Devildogs when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Blue Ridge fell just short of Travelers Rest by a score of 57-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Despite the loss, Blue Ridge still got an impressive performance from Nash Somero, who scored 28 points. Somero hasn't dropped below 15 points for 14 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Bishop, who scored 12 points along with three steals.

Blue Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Travelers Rest, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blue Ridge will take on Pendleton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (Pendleton is ranked 140th, while Blue Ridge is ranked 135th). As for Travelers Rest, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Walhalla at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Travelers Rest is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in South Carolina (they are ranked 109th, while Walhalla is ranked 219th).
