Baseball Game Preview: Calais Blue Devils vs. Woodland Dragons

Calais hasn't had much luck against Woodland recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Blue Devils will head out to challenge the Dragons at 4:00 p.m. Neither Calais nor Woodland posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Calais managed to slip by Narraguagus the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Blue Devils lost 10-0 to the Knights on Wednesday.

Calais saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah White, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Woodland had taken Machias down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Dragons took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Calais' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Woodland, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2.

Calais might still be hurting after the 9-2 loss they got from Woodland when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
