Basketball Recap: Columbus School for Girls' Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Franklin Heights last Saturday, Columbus School for Girls came back down to earth. The Columbus School for Girls Unicorns fell to the Columbus Academy Vikings 28-24. The Unicorns were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 44-18.

Columbus Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lianna Lopez, who posted seven points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kendall Owens, who put up 12 points.

Columbus School for Girls moved to 9-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Columbus Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.

Columbus School for Girls will face off against Whitehall-Yearling at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitehall-Yearling will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Columbus School for Girls surely won't give up without a fight. As for Columbus Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Grandview Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
