Basketball Recap: Sunny Hills Comes Up Short

Sunny Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 64-48 fall against the Newport Harbor Sailors. The Lancers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Sailors from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Sunny Hills still got an impressive performance from Ezra Lee, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Zach Castillo, who earned five points.

Sunny Hills' loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Newport Harbor, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Coming up, Sunny Hills is headed away from home for the first time to take on Orange at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.29 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Newport Harbor, they will be taking part in a tournament against California at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Sailors will need to watch out since the Condors have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
