Soccer Recap: Hardin-Jefferson Comes Up Short

Hardin-Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They came up short against the Lumberton Raiders, falling 5-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 back in February.

Hardin-Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Lumberton, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hardin-Jefferson will head out to face off against Little Cypress-Mauriceville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hardin-Jefferson has given up an average of 3.6 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Lumberton, they will venture away from home to take on Vidor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lumberton will be up against Vidor's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.3 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
