It was a good run, but Hilliard Darby unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 16-8 to the Marysville Monarchs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since May 3, 2024.

Lorelai Gum was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Hilliard Darby's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 11-2. As for Marysville, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-1 record this season.
