Eastern Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Jj Johnson Goes Supernova in Enterprise Victory

Starting off the list is Enterprise's Jj Johnson, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Johnson rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 208 yards and two touchdowns. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making four total tackles.

Johnson and Enterprise will challenge Shasta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last time Johnson took on the Wolves, he rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Dominick Hernandez Makes It Two for Enterprise

Keeping Johnson company is Dominick Hernandez, a fellow Enterprise player. He picked up 64 receiving yards and a touchdown.

On the season, Hernandez has caught 3 touchdowns while averaging 45.5 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had one receiving touchdown.

Gamescore: 21.93

Shasta had to settle for second on Friday, but JR Wheeler sure wasn't going down easily. Foothill had no answer to Wheeler as he picked up 49 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Shasta moved to 5-1 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. Wheeler and Shasta will welcome Enterprise at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Polley Made His Presence Known in Shasta's 21-14 Loss

Another Shasta player making an appearance on this list is Justin Polley. He threw for 117 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 56 yards.

Foothill had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Polley it was a similar story. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Polley saw the Cougars), he rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 156 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.
