Baseball Game Preview: Millbrook School Mustangs vs. Canterbury School Saints

The Millbrook School Mustangs will square off against the Canterbury School Saints at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Millbrook School took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Trinity-Pawling School with a sharp 7-1 win. The Mustangs not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2nd (when they won 15-5).

Meanwhile, Canterbury School earned a 4-1 victory over Hopkins on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Saints.

Jake Pomichter tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Tyler Kisling and Aaron Morice did most of the damage at the plate: Kisling went 1-for-2 with one home run, while Morice went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits Morice has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ryan Gabianelli, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Millbrook School has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Canterbury School, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
