Baseball Preview: Millbrook School Mustangs vs. Canterbury School Saints
The Millbrook School Mustangs will square off against the Canterbury School Saints at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Millbrook School took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Trinity-Pawling School with a sharp 7-1 win. The Mustangs not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2nd (when they won 15-5).
Meanwhile, Canterbury School earned a 4-1 victory over Hopkins on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Saints.
Jake Pomichter tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
On the hitting side, Tyler Kisling and Aaron Morice did most of the damage at the plate: Kisling went 1-for-2 with one home run, while Morice went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
