Recap: Whitko Wildcats vs. Southwood Knights
After only 12 points in their last matchup, the Whitko Wildcats made sure to put some points up on the board against the Southwood Knights on Wednesday. Whitko strolled past Southwood with points to spare, taking the game 67-48. Winning may never get old, but Whitko sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Whitko was led to victory by Kyler Krull and Sam Essegian. Krull scored 20 points along with two steals, while Essegian dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Hoffman, who scored 11 points.
Whitko is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Southwood, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Whitko will be playing at home against Peru at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Peru is ranked 200th, while Whitko is ranked 182nd). As for Southwood, they will head out on the road to take on North Miami at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Miami is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
