Soccer Game Preview: McNary vs. South Salem + How To Watch

The McNary Celtics are taking a road trip to take on the South Salem Saxons at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

McNary is headed into the matchup having not lost since September 23 and will look to keep things rolling. Their defense stepped up to hand West Salem a 5-0 shutout on Tuesday. That looming 5-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for McNary yet this season.

Meanwhile, South Salem got the win against West Salem on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. Given South Salem's advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon soccer rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while West Salem are ranked 94th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

McNary is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those six contests. As for South Salem, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3-2.

McNary skirted past South Salem 1-0 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Celtics since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
