Softball Recap: Monache Marauders vs. Taft Wildcats

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monache). They never let the Taft Wildcats get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Marauders sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Sophia Martinez tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Amiee Rivas, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Mckinly Meister was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Monache hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive contests.
