Softball Game Preview: Gilbert Indians vs. Airport Eagles

The Gilbert Indians will take on the Airport Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gilbert is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.

Gilbert barely beat North Augusta the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Indians blew past the Yellow Jackets 8-1 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won five matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Airport fell victim to North Augusta and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Yellow Jackets, falling 11-0.

Gilbert's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Airport, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.
