Baseball Recap: Technology Comes Up Short

If Technology was feeling good fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Calistoga on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Titans came up short against the Credo Gryphon on Tuesday, falling 8-1. The loss continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Gryphon: they've now lost three in a row.

Damian Padilla was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one RBI.

Padilla wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Henry Kim, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Luca Reidy, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Technology's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Credo, their record now sits at 4-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Technology beat the Gryphon by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.
