Basketball Game Preview: Nash Central Bulldogs vs. Franklinton Red Rams

Nash Central hasn't had much luck against Franklinton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Nash Central Bulldogs will welcome the Franklinton Red Rams at 7:30 p.m.

Last Friday, Nash Central lost to Southern Nash on the road by a 60-45 margin. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Franklinton had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 77-17 win over Oxford Prep. That 60 point margin sets a new team best for the Red Rams this season.

Nash Central better focus on containing Kirby Ransom and Darius Slankard as the pair were huge in Franklinton's win. Ransom almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards, while Slankard went 6 of 9 en route to 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Slankard a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zymir Lipscomb, who posted ten points and three steals.

Franklinton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Nash Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Franklinton, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

Nash Central won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in December of 2024, slipping by Franklinton 53-52. Does Nash Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Franklinton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
