Softball Recap: Northampton Drops Season-High Score on King & Queen Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northampton). They were the clear victors by a 27-7 margin over the King & Queen Central Royal Tigers on Friday. The Yellowjackets have beaten the Royal Tigers the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Royal Tigers has come to flipping the script.

The team relied heavily on Ortavia Rogers, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, four runs, and one triple. Makiah Upshur was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.

Northampton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .640. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Northampton's record now sits at 3-6. As for King & Queen Central, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

Coming up, Northampton will be playing in front of their home fans against Broadwater Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
