Basketball Recap: Israel Lockridge Key Part of a Team Effort in LIONS Win

Trinity Christian School of Griffin won the last time they faced Skipstone Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Trinity Christian School of Griffin LIONS put the hurt on the Skipstone Academy Warriors with a sharp 68-44 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the LIONS.

Trinity Christian School of Griffin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Israel Lockridge, who went 5 for 7 en route to 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and eight steals. Lockridge is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least five every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Travone Appling, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 14 points along with eight boards and four steals.

Scooter Barkley and Nick Cloud certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Barkley posted 21 points, while Cloud scored 11 points. That was a full 47.7% of Skipstone Academy's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Trinity Christian School of Griffin now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Skipstone Academy, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-6.

Trinity Christian School of Griffin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 76-56 victory against Praise Academy on the 17th. As for Skipstone Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-50 win against Lafayette Christian on the 17th.
