Soccer Game Preview: Winooski vs. Burke Mountain Academy

The Winooski Spartans are taking a road trip to face off against Burke Mountain Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Winooski is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season.

Winooski barely beat Danville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 4-0 victory on Friday. The win was familiar territory for Winooski, who have now won three contests in a row.

They hit Danville with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Djoyce Mampuya, Jenny Paw, Prisca Niyorukundo, and Ketila Selemani.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Burke Mountain Academy made sure to put some goals up on the board against Paine Mountain on Monday. They came out on top against Paine Mountain by a score of 6-4.

Winooski's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Burke Mountain Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Winooski skirted past Burke Mountain Academy 1-0 when the teams last played on September 3rd. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
