Softball Recap: Toms River North Takes a Loss

Toms River North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 16-1 to the New Egypt Warriors.

Toms River North saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dalylia L, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. L also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Toms River North's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for New Egypt, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Toms River North will host Lacey Township at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.67 runs per game on average), something the Mariners will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for New Egypt, they will welcome Westampton Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
