Baseball Recap: Frederick Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mountain Range, Frederick was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Thompson Valley Eagles. The Golden Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Zaiah Jones was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Jones was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cyle Rarden, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Satterly, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Frederick's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Thompson Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Frederick will face off against Berthoud at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Thompson Valley, they will challenge Severance at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
