Softball Game Preview: Chestnut Ridge Lions vs. Windber Ramblers

The Chestnut Ridge Lions will venture away from home to take on the Windber Ramblers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Last Monday, Chestnut Ridge didn't have quite enough to beat Claysburg-Kimmel and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Windber came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Mustangs.

Windber pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chestnut Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Chestnut Ridge beat Windber 3-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chestnut Ridge since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
