Football Recap: The St. James Performance Academy Triumphs

On Friday The St. James Performance Academy's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 41-40 W against The First Academy Royals. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Strivers were down 40-22 in the third quarter.

Several Royals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Demetrice McCray, who rushed for 55 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 35 receiving yards. Another pass catcher making a difference was BRIAN WILLIAMS, who picked up 93 receiving yards and one score.

The St. James Performance Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for The First Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Coming up, The St. James Performance Academy will head out to face off against St. Thomas More at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for The First Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hun at 7:00 p.m. The Raiders' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Royals' offense will have their work cut out for them.
