Basketball Recap: Otsego Comes Up Short

Otsego lost against Genoa Area back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Otsego Knights received a blow as they fell 57-42 to the Genoa Area Comets. The matchup marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Otsego's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 18-2. As for Genoa Area, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Otsego and Genoa Area should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Otsego (ranked 144th) will meet Fostoria (ranked 458th) at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Otsego will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. Similarly, Genoa Area will face off against Rossford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 582 places (170 vs. 752). Otsego is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
