Baseball Game Preview: Wolfe City Wolves vs. North Hopkins Panthers

The Wolfe City Wolves will challenge the North Hopkins Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wolfe City has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with five straight defeats, while North Hopkins will come in with six straight victories.

Wolfe City is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Cooper by a score of 10-9 on Friday.

Nick Nowak made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Daniel Garcia, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times North Hopkins and Saltillo had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. North Hopkins blew past Saltillo 17-1 on Friday. Considering the Panthers have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

North Hopkins pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Wolfe City, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
