Preview: Georgetown Bulldogs vs. Dillon Wildcats
Georgetown is 0-10 against Dillon since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Georgetown Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Dillon Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Georgetown comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Georgetown suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They suffered a rough 44-23 defeat at the hands of Aynor.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Dillon's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Waccamaw by a score of 50-48. Dillon has struggled against Waccamaw recently, as their contest on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Georgetown's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-15. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.0 points per game. As for Dillon, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.
Georgetown came up short against Dillon in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 57-50. Can Georgetown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
