Baseball Recap: Paden Victorious

While Paden's win against Wilson-Henryetta wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Paden Pirates had just enough and edged out the Wilson-Henryetta Tigers 9-7. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Jordan McKinney and Kanin Case made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, McKinney tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Case struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March of 2024. At bat, McKinney scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Case scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Case a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, Paden let Nile Ellis and Axl Grounds run wild. Ellis scored two runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Grounds scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave Grounds a new career-high.

Paden now has a winning record of 2-1.

Paden will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wilson-Henryetta at 4:00 p.m. on March 27th. As for Wilson-Henryetta, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Wilson-Henryetta Tigers take on Braggs Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
