Baseball Recap: Hudson Comes Up Short

After flying high against Gulf last Monday, Hudson came back down to earth. The Cobras lost 15-3 to the Weeki Wachee Hornets on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cobras have suffered against the Hornets since March 20, 2017.

Hudson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Gillespie, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Hudson's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Weeki Wachee, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Hudson will head out on the road to square off against South Sumter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cobras' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Weeki Wachee, they will be playing at home against Crystal River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
