The Corona del Sol Aztecs will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Casteel Colts at 7:00 p.m. Corona del Sol will be strutting in after a victory while Casteel will be coming in after a defeat.
Corona del Sol's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They claimed a resounding 45-14 win over Desert Vista on the road.
Among those leading the charge was Connor Ackerley, who threw for 242 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Zuri Glenn, who picked up 97 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Casteel faced Basha in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Casteel had to suffer through a rough 43-7 loss at the hands of Basha. Casteel just can't catch a break and has now endured four losses in a row.
Corona del Sol's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Casteel, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Corona del Sol lost to Casteel at home by a decisive 31-14 margin in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Will Corona del Sol have more luck at home instead of on the road?
