Baseball Game Preview: Christian Heritage Academy Knights vs. North Cross Raiders

The Christian Heritage Academy Knights will face off against the North Cross Raiders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Christian Heritage Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.

Christian Heritage Academy had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Grace Christian put an end to it on Tuesday. The Knights took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Knights were not able to get on the board.

Gavin Hodges was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Meanwhile, North Cross beat Carlisle 6-2 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won six in a row.

Tristan Lange was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. He also scored two runs, which is notable because North Cross is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise.

North Cross now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Christian Heritage Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Christian Heritage Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like North Cross struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.6 strikeouts.
