Volleyball Recap: Monterey Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Monterey lost against Coronado back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Plainsmen fell 3-1 to the Mustangs. The Plainsmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Monterey ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-19, 20-25, 25-19.

Emerson Satterfield paced Monterey's offense, picking up 11 kills. Satterfield also shared the team's lead in assists with Athaliah Rodriguez: they picked up 16 each. Sophia Tutino controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Monterey's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Coronado, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Coming up, Monterey will be taking part in a tournament against Nimitz at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Coronado, they will head out on the road to challenge Granbury at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
