Ocean Lakes and Kellam squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Ocean Lakes had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Kellam Knights by a score of 3-2. The Dolphins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Ocean Lakes sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-17, 21-25, 25-21, 18-25, 15-11.
Kellam was led to victory by Sydney Stone and Giulia Alison. Stone had 24 digs, while Alison had 15 digs. Stone is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in the last seven games she's played.
Ocean Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Kellam, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.
