Football Game Preview: Burrell Bucs vs. East Allegheny Wild Cats

The Burrell Bucs will venture away from home to challenge the East Allegheny Wild Cats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Burrell has given up an average of 31.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Friday, Burrell took a blow against Freeport, falling 34-7. While losing is never fun, the Bucs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 408th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 145th).

Meanwhile, East Allegheny was able to grind out a solid win over Deer Lakes on Friday, taking the game 14-7.

This is the second loss in a row for Burrell and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for East Allegheny, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Burrell was able to grind out a solid win over East Allegheny in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, winning 22-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bucs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
