Basketball Game Preview: Denbigh Baptist Christian Minutemen vs. Gateway Christian

The Denbigh Baptist Christian Minutemen will head out on the road to face off against Gateway Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Denbigh Baptist Christian strolled past Greenbrier Christian Academy with points to spare, taking the game 74-59. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Minutemen.

Denbigh Baptist Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyson Fox out in front who posted 26 points. William Showalter was another key player, putting up 19 points.

Meanwhile, Gateway Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 72-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Isle of Wight Academy. One positive for Gateway Christian, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Gateway Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Denbigh Baptist Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

Everything came up roses for Denbigh Baptist Christian against Gateway Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 64-28 win. Will Denbigh Baptist Christian repeat their success, or does Gateway Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
