Basketball Recap: East Butler Tigers vs. Dundy County-Stratton Tigers
East Butler has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-50 heartbreaker at the hands of Dundy County-Stratton. The game was a 28-28 toss-up at halftime, but East Butler couldn't quite close it out.
Dundy County-Stratton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Latta out in front who shot 54% from the field to rack up 21 points and five steals. Latta continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of August Shaw, who posted 12 points and four steals.
East Butler's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Dundy County-Stratton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.
East Butler does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dundy County-Stratton, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Dundy County-Stratton Tigers challenge Howells-Dodge Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on March 12th. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Howells-Dodge comes in on three and Dundy County-Stratton on five.
