Volleyball Recap: King Philip Regional Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but King Philip Regional had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Reading Memorial Rockets as they made off with a 3-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

King Philip Regional's got stronger as the match went on, holding Reading Memorial to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-20, 25-16.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead King Philip Regional to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cece Mullen, who had five aces and four digs. Mullen is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served five or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleigh Shore, who had 16 digs.

They weren't the only good servers: King Philip Regional was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in 19 consecutive contests.

King Philip Regional's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Reading Memorial, with the loss, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 16-7.

Coming up, King Philip Regional will square off against Oliver Ames at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Reading Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
